House Bill 21-1286 established a statewide Benchmarking and Building Performance Requirement for buildings 50,000 sf or greater. While the benchmarking requirement went into effect immediately, the performance requirement was to be created by a Task Force.

That Building Performance Standards (BPS) Task Force has been meeting monthly through all of 2022 and has developed recommendations. Join Kathie Barstnar, NAIOP Colorado Executive Director and BPS Task Force Member and guests for a review of, and discussion about, those recommendations. What will they mean for development of new buildings and for the management of existing structures? What will it take to reduce GMG emissions by 7% by 2026 and by 20% by 2030?
